Default o7 ping on acceleration

My 07 will ping anytime you suddenly hit the throttle, but if you roll on, no problem. Ive tried several maps enriched from 0-40% throttle. Even retarded timing -2 in that range. Anybody else seeing this?

Rush slip-ons, 2.0 baffle, k&n 3909 a/c, pc111 usb. Just had the 07 recall reflash to the computer, didnt make any difference in that dept.

Was it doing this before new download?Have you double checked the zero throttle setting esp after new SB download?I have seen custom maps w/ignition timing decreased as high as -3 from 2000 rpms to 6250rpms at 20% throttle up to 100% in all blocks.I also see your running a shield, did hearing this start after install?Maybe you had it all along and am now hearing this due to shield. Was bike ever dyno tuned? And are you sure its detonation youre hearing? Some of these bikes have ping issues, some seem to have something else.Of course bad fuel could be your problem-its possible if just recently happening.try another tank, different brand before messing w/map.

Either go with the K&N 3910 Or the K&N -0800 with the back plate from haley. 3909 just wont breath

Yes, was pinging before download with quick turn of throttle. I have checked the zero, SHield didnt make a difference, and havent had it dynoed. Gas is always exxon or citgo 93. I dont think I can trust anybody local to dyno with the pc111. They seem only familiar with the hd tuner, and Im not going to be the first they learn on.....

These 07s arent all the same when it comes to timing advance.28 degrees seems the max they will go,some maybe alittle higher in lighter bikes.May be a ring sealing thing since may of these bikes are still pretty young.Alittle oil may be in the mix?I would say try retarding ignition at throttle position that youre seeing the ping, you may have to go beyond -2.Go wide in the rpm/throttle range w/the timing decrease till it quits and then start increasing at higher rpms and work back.It may take you awhile before youre happy.Hopefully this will help.

I had the same problem with My 05 Dyna. The problem was with the PC111usb. Try removing the it.

I have the same issue. I think I've solved it with my PCIII by retarding the timing...check my previous posts. I just ordered a set of V&H Ovals so now I'm going to be changing maps and starting all over but I think I have the idea now. Good luck and keep us posted.

Don't worry. The knock senors are there to protect you...andguide you.

I had the same problem. In my case adding fuel took care of it. Sound like you need toadd fuel in your "Accel Enrichment" (?) table. I don't have a PC so I'm not sure if you can adjust that, but withSERTI was able to log data, thenmonitor the Knock Sensors and pin point the conditions that caused pinging. The nice thing about SERT is withdata logging no need to guess what the ECM is doing you will know the EXACTRPM, Throttle position, VE table cell,Injector Pluse Width, Ignition Timing, even the amount of timing removed because of knock when itoccures. Just look for what is common when pinging happensandwork back from there you can literally pin point it down to one or two cells.

Nothingbeatslogging data when trying to issolate a problem....except an experience dyno turner. But hell I like working on my bike. Riding while logging data ain't so bad. And I have no problem spending the money I save everytime I do it myself.

I guess I know the answer here but what do you do with the laptop, put it in the saddlebag? I've just put my SERT on and have downloaded the stage I file. All seems well but I'd like to record a travelling data file to study. Do I need to "blip" the throttle to "mark" events on the file? Thanks.

Put the ovals on and changed the map to 812-003...but I went tot he ignition table and changed the 4s in the 100 position to "0"... its cold here...bout 42 but it rode wonderfully. No ping at all.
