Hello Everybody - New to this forum - 35 years saddle time - and I have a question about a Head-Quarters Pro Tuner install. I just picked up an '02 Road King (Police Edition) and would like to install this unit on it. One problem, though..The directions from the manufacturer say that the CPS connector is near the sensor on the case. The only connector plug that I can find is under the cover on the right side next to the battery box. The plugs look the same, but before I possibly fry this unit, I was wondering if anyone else had come across this issue? Is this something that may be a Police Edition issue - or are the directions from Head-Quarters AFU? Thanks.
Thanks for the reply, I cannot open it until I gat priveledges (hopefully, today)
Here is where I stand on this debacle...I traced the CPS wire fron the sensor back, and that was the only connection, so I used it. The bike turned over, but had no spark. It turns out that one of my connectors was bad on the Pro Tuner. After a couple of jiggles, it came on and the bike started. I tried it a few times and it cut out one cylinder. A few more jiggles and it was OK again. Today, I will be removing the connectors and soldering the wires together. That should fix it.
Nexy problem - After the bike starts, the engine light comes on and then shuts off. How do I clear that code?
I like their stuff at H-Q, sometimes the little things like bad connectors are aggravating. The product is good, though, and I look forward to seeing how it works with the new cam.
