Default Electrical/charging question

95 Ultra Classic, New crate Evo w 12k+ miles on the clock. Ok here is the scenario: Run down the road, no accessories or extra lights on, headlamp only..13 volts. Turn on passing lights 12.5 volts...add radio..a little over 12 volts......add saddlebag lights 11 volts. stock stator/rotor believe it to be 32 amps. Whenever I trun on the turn signals with anything on, the volt meter reflects every flash by going to 10.5 volts. Bike has never failed to start, no problems running. It was set up for a Hannigan sidecar and does have some additional wiring that I told the Prev owner(friend) that I would not remove until he sold the side car.(easier to transport and demo) Before you ask, I tried riding the sidecar and got the wheel in the air. I don't want the sidecar at any price. There is a humming noise when you turn the rear speakers up and turn the radio off. Battery is 6 months old. Battery cables are tight and clean

Question: What component should I check first and how? SHop manual is on the way but I don't want to get stranded on the road.

Default RE: Electrical/charging question

Check the how to section in this Forum, the one with electrical troubleshooting. I just had the same problem on my 95 wideglide and found it was a bad stator. The section explains how to check voltage regulator and stator output.
Hope this helps,Jeff

Get a service manual and it will out line the checks for the charging system, Also the evo style has a problem with the stator plug shorting out. Very common problem you will also see oil from primary leaking into the plug and shorting it out. Make sure you have the wire run above front mount area instead of under this will help with oil transfer issue

P.S. service manual is a great thing to have.
