OEM Speedometer input Signal?
Hi There!
I`ve completely rebuild an old 1984 FLHTC to a new type roadking (2001 parts), I had to loose the drive cable to the mechanical speedometer. I`ve also installed a digital speedometer, exactly where they are supposed to be on a roadking. There is ONLY 1 little job left, before i can finish my project: get a signal to the speedo, to get it to work.
I`ve purchased a cable-to-signal convertor from Dakota Digital, but a bit stupid, I`ve installed a 2001 front fork, so the cable had to go (axle is thicker).
Also i bought a Dry Reed Contact - little sensor that works with two magnets - that doesn`t do much. Can anyone please help me with experience on how to get te right signal to the OEM speedo.
- What sensor?
- Do i need to convert the signal to what?
- Has anyone done this, and actually got it to work? (properly?)
