Hi there. I have just taken delivery of my new fatboy 07.
I live in London and it has been raining for the last 2 weeks so I not even had a chance to ride it around the block.
I have bought a battery tender to keep the charge on the battery full.
Now this is the problem.
My dealer says, "put it into transport mode" and I should be able to remove battery without setting off alarm.
I have tried with him on the phone but no good. THE ALARM sure is loud and I have yet to disconnect to battery terminals and connect my tender.
He says bring it in so they can have a look. But it looks like rain for the next week, so I dont want to ride in the rain.
Is there a knack to do this, I have read the instructions several times and still no success.
not sure about the transport mode- I haven't used it. I have disconnected the batter on my 07 several times though. Turn the ignition on then disconnect the battery. This will keep the alarm from going off.
doesnt transport mode only disalble the motion sensors ? I think it will still go off.
transport mode:
1. Turn ignition on (then toggle RUN/STOP button on then off ONCE)
2. Turn ignition to ACCESSORY Setting
3. Push BOTH turnsigs at the same time hold in and wait for 4 flashes of the turnsignal lights
4. Turn Ignition to OFF.
I have done this, just turn the ignition(don't start it)on and then undo the neg cable. Don't let it bounce around on the terminal when you do and it will be fine.
