Default 05 fatboy problem after installing bars

Hello,

I have a 2005 fatboy. Forgetting that my old bike was an evo, I just started to tear down the 05 to put new bars on. After routing the wires, carefully plugging them back in, and getting everything together, I go to start it and I have things flashing and no running.

The right turn signal is on immediatley, and it will not start. I took the tank back off to check all connections and everything looks good.

Any help on how to fix this will be greatly appreciated, god damn, I want my evo back.

Matt

it sounds like you either have crimped some wires somewhere, or you plugged them in different holes.
Pretty hard to mis plug stuff since every plug is different, so I am thinking you have a bad wire(s) somewhere - bad as in you crimped them, or during all the movement helped finished something that had started before you got in there. (turn signals obviously are the same, but all that should do is have your signals reversed if you crossed them).

I'm no expert, but I have had my whole front end apart.. there isn't much mystery up there. I don't know what an Evo wire setup looks like, but I find it hard to believe they are that much different. You still had turn signals, horn, ignition, etc.

Hello,

I had a wire in the wrong slot on the right side, now everything works great. All the other wires were the same on both ends of the plug except for 2, after looking back over it, I switched them and now everything is fine.

Thanks for your help
