Ignition/Tuner/ECM/Fuel InjectionNeed advice on ignition issues? Questions about a tuner? Have questions about a EFI calibration or Fuel Injection? Tips on Engine Diagnostics, how to get codes, and what they mean. Find your answers here.
I just installed a Thundermax w/ Autotune over the weekend (works awesome by the way...) and everything is great, except I lost the display on my speedometer. I have the Harley Speedo/tach combo part #70900070. The display where the odometer, fuel gauge, and gear indicator normally reads just shows 'VIN ER'. I'm assuming that the gauges are confused since the ECM was replaced. Is there something I can do or should have done to pair them together?
You have to input the VIN from your bike into the tmax tuner. I believe its in the tuning maps under module configuration/module service data. Make sure you use all caps. Hope that helped. I installed mine a couple weeks ago and am having an issue with the trip odometers returning to actual miles when the ignition is turned off then on. Heard anything on this issue?
Awesome! Thanks for the help. I'll try that when I get home tonight.
It would be nice if we knew it before everything was tightened & buttoned up. It worked for me but I had to take out the Tmax, plug the original ECU back in, reset with the fuses & reset button, re-install the Tmax. I did have a code "V IN ER" in my speedo display and had no odometer readings which were all fixed with the recalibration. Good Luck!
