speedo/tach combo question
my speedo is about 20 mph off and increases the faster i go ex- says 55 really doing 80 my tach also idles at 2k the slightest tought to the throtle and it shoots up to 8k it also erases my trip comute every so often what could the problem be ...dirty sensor bad sensor in the crank case any suggestions thanks

pull your speedo sensor from the transmission and clean it up. slap it back in and you'll probably be good to go. if there are a lot of metal shavings on the head sensor you might want to look at the transmission. There is also a connector somewhere close to the battery for this bike. This connector's wires go to the speedo sensor. Follow the wires and you'll find the connector. Pull it apart and make sure it's not corroded. put a dab of dielectric grease in the connector and mate it back together.
