I just installed the Woods 222 cam kit and PV on my bike and am having trouble with the tune. I took the bike out for a ride with my wife and it sputters and pops under a load anywhere under 3k rpm. I was running 60mph in 5th gear at around 2700 rpm and if I hit a hill it would act up but if I downshifted and got the rpm's up over 3k it would be alright. I was running the auto tune basic and I installed the changes when I got home. The weather is crap today so I won't get to ride again soon. I noticed that there is a quick tune function on the PV but did not play with it. I am thinking I am experiencing a lean condition but am not sure. I emailed Jamie at FM and he said to use the auto tune basic to correct the problem. Any insight on what else I might try would be appreciated. I have been reading on here about using the PV and am lost with all of the technical talk. Thanks again.

I am more than happy to help you with your tune, if needed I can make some revisions and send a new map to try. However as noted the easiest and most accurate way to correct your tune is by using the Auto Tune Basic application with your PV. This uses your factory O2 sensors, it automatically populates corrections and allows you to easily apply them, you can do this entire process right with the PV unit and it is very easy. I already emailed specific instructions, there are very helpful videos on he Dynojet site, and if you need any assistance along the way we are here to help, just give as a call.
I know you sent me instructions and I appreciate your help. I am just trying to learn as much as I can about what is causing my issue and also as much as I can about the PV. I wont be able to get out and ride the bike any time soon. How many tuning sessions should it take to correct the problem? I want to learn as much as I can about using the PV so any info is appreciated.
You were auto tuning while it was doing this? How does it run when not auto tuning? Mine runs like poo while auto tuning as some settings are changed while tuning
You did the cam swap yourself? 100% confident that you got them timed properly and both sets of alignments marks spot on? It's easy to be off by just a little. FM's stock 222 map ran fine when I did mine, but subsequent auto tune sessions have gotten it dialed in for my specific build. It should take 2-3 30 minutes runs to get you close within your normal riding range (<3500 rpm and 70% throttle). That is where I'd focus first. Once that is good, then expand to higher RPM and throttle settings. The first few will have more dramatic changes, and then after that it's just a matter of fine tuning and getting it even closer.

I am sure I got the timing marks on the cams lined up. It starts and idles fine and runs good from 3k up. It just is a little sluggish from 2-3k and when riding 2up it amplifies the problem. I am just hoping it is a tuning issue and the A.T. will fix it. As far as the AT causing the bike to run poorly I am not sure. It seems to run the same no matter what.
