I picked up a set of bright white LED lights that I'm mounting under my front peg brackets.
I'm looking for some where to tap in for power , thinking headlight circuit. I think I can pick up my Grd by the regulator so I'll only have a long run for the hot. I'd rather not run it up the front of the frame , and it would be nice to put a switch in also. It appears theres an optional wiring harness that could be added for FLSTC / FLSTS models ? Could this work for a FXSTD ?
It would be very simple to add wiring via an accessory relay, which is what I have done on my bike. That way the switched circuit and switch only take switching power and a new wire takes the power to your new lights. If you add other things, like a gps, etc, you can use the same relay. Use a conventional light relay from your local friendly auto parts shop, which should come with wiring instructions. A darned sight cheaper than buying an HD accessory (of any sort!). This link gives the basics.
Thanks for the idea , did some looking and found this diagram ( I'm kinda visual ) this look right to you ? I don't need the indicator light so minus that.
