Intermittent backfire problem
Bike = 2006 FXSTB 88cu in punched to 95", cams and heads done, PCIII for tuner
Problem started last ride of fall 2012, took bike to Daytona last week and the problem happened again down there 1 out of the 7 days.
Symptom is bike starts fine but when you accelerate it seems as if it is not getting the right amount of fuel and lean backfiring. seems to only happen at 1/4 throttle or so..
last fall it did this from one stop to another and when I went to leave that stop after about 20 min it didnt do it again for the 15 mile ride home. In Fla last week the problem showed up again so as i was traveling down the road I shut the ignition off and then restarted the bike and it immediately stopped the backfiring.. I checked for codes and there are no codes present. could this be a power commander tuner issue??
something else to note..... Temp was in the upper 40's both times this happened
