Battery smoke
Just put my battery back in my 11 Fatbob that was stored in my basement over the long winter. It turned over a couple times real slow then I smelled smoke a low and behold it melted my positve terminal on the battery. I quit there and ordered a new battery, should be here tomorrow.. any Idea what might have caused this to happen? I'm alittle skidish to try the new battery

Yea a loose connection or corroded connection will restrict the current flow at that point and over load the wire/connection . Think of putting a real small wire in a high amperage drawing circuit.
It will let the smoke out of the wire.
Since the connection on the battery are lead they melt.
