So yesterday when I got back, I had a brain fade and hooked up the tender backwards. Positive to negative and negative to positive. Left it overnight and saw it this AM. What did I mess up? Looks like it may have drained the battery. Is that possible?
Anything that could have gotten fried? I know its only a small amount of juice going in but what could happen.
Thanks in advance.
Once my battery tender harness was installed, I would say it is impossible to hook it up with reverse polarity. I am guessing that at worst you could have ruined the battery and battery tender.
The battery tender is polarity protected so it should have shut down. Put it back on correctly and see if if begins to charge. When you hook up the wire harness the exposed lead (male) should be the negative and the covered (female) should be positive when comimng from the battery just in case it touches something on the bike
Your battery should be OK since most tenders will not charge if the polarity is reversed. Make it easier on yourself and hook up the pigtail to the battery so all you need to do is plug the tender into the pigtail.

You infused 12VDC into your household current. At some point it will discharge into something you plug into your receptacle. Just kidding. I think you will be fine.
Read the back of your battery tender. If it is a Deltran Battery Tender product it is reverse polarity protected. I think they also make the Harley charger.
