Charging system issue/Battery Light
I'm looking for some help figuring out why the battery and check engine lights come on intermittently on my 2012 FLHX. The bike was recently in storage for 6 months prior to being shipped to Hawaii, but the battery was fully charged and tested good prior to re-installation. Had no issues for about the first 100 miles, then the battery and check engine lights showed up. They extinguished on their own the first time, so I started watching the battery volts, and could watch them go from about 14.5 steadily down, tripping the battery/engine light at about 11.5, then back up to 14.5 on their own within a couple of minutes. Engine RPM doesn't seem to affect how quickly the volts come back up, so I'm thinking it may be a regulator or ground issue. This bike is pretty new to me, and I'm certainly no mechanic, nor am I electronically inclined, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
