anyone out there unhappy with the new power vision or is all good, and have you been able to take of what you planned on doing with it, or have you had to go to someone else.
My PV came w/a custom tune from FM based on the parameters I supplied. Installation and marrying to bike was straight forward and not difficult. I needed the PV to turn on the ACR feature as I had added later model heads w/ACR as part of my motor mods. I read thru the "manual" and found how to set them "on" thru the Config tab of the Quick Tune feature. The custom tune loaded in the PV by FM flashed to the ECM with no issues. The bike ran great from the start, and now I've begun to experiment with the Auto Tune (AT) feature. I don't have the wide band O2 sensors, so I'm using the Basic AT mode. I've done about 3 data log sessions and exported the learned data to a new custom tune. I can't really tell much difference in performance through the updates.
My chief complaint is in the documentation... I'm not a tuner so I don't have a lot of background on the theory of operation. The "manuals" are basically "buttonology" - they tell you how to make each feature work, but don't explain the "why" you are doing it. This is especially true when you look at the data log screens and see all the colored cells and the codes flashing (indicating the particular parameter, e.g. VE, is high, low, or out of range), or use the WinPV to look at the data cells and try to understand what you are looking at or how/if a particular value should be changed.
The PV did allow me to put a better-than-stock or dealer ECM flash tune into the computer myself and it's allowed me to enhance the original custom tune under actual riding conditions. Maybe there's a good book out there like "Tuning for Dummies" that could help us wanna-be tuners out; but overall, I'd say I'm happy w/my PV and the results I'm getting.
I'm very happy with my PV tuner. I agree with the lack of documentation, but tuning is a deep subject. I also bought mine from Fuel Moto as a part of my stage 1 package. The lack of documentation is compensated for by the support provided by Fuel Moto. The tune provided by Fuel Moto was good, but I was still getting some pinging, and they adjusted the tune to eliminate the ping. I used the auto tune process and it really improved the tune. I could have just stayed with the tune provided, but chose to try AT and very happy I did. I think it is smart to buy from FM due to the support available from them. I've called and emailed them several times and they are patient, and help me out every time.
