If I ever purchased a new Harley, I would drive it awhile before the mods. I would like to know how it once ran, especially if I had problems after the mods, it would be like X-mas all over again after the mods and I would do a before and after dyno runs so I could see what the mods did.
My Ultra has 1 mile on it and I'm going to wait until I get my 1000 mi check up before I do anything just in case there is something wrong right out of the box. I have Ovals in the basement and a Big Sucker and Thundermax w/auto tune on order so I may just take one long trip, maybe 500 miles from home

I have a 1000 miles on my Bob and building some heads for it as we speak. I would have done mods earlier but always busy working on everyone else's stuff. You have to flip a coin to see who's gets the dyno next LOL
Check withy your dealer as to what his policy is in regards to performance parts added to your bike and how it may affect warrantee in his eyes. If he OK's it go for it.
