I PURCHASED AN 06 DELUXE FROM A WOMAN WHO BOUGHT IT NEW IN MARCH AND ONLY PUT 28 MILES ON IT BEFORE SELLING IT TO ME IN AUGUST. WHEN SHE SOLD IT TO ME SHE ONLY HAD THE TITLE AND NO OTHER INFO ON THE BIKE. I JUST HAD THE 1000 MILE SERVICE THIS WEEK AND THE HD SERVICE DEPT SAID THE BIKE HAD THE SERT INSTALLED ON IT AND ASKED IF I HAD THE SERT MODULE.........I DO NOT. THEY SAID THAT WITHOUT THAT ORIGINAL SERT MODULE, THE ONLY WAY TO PROPERLY TUNE THE BIKE 100% PERFECT IS FOR ME TO PURCHASE A WHOLE NEW SERT FOR $600 AND THEN HAVE IT DYNO'D FOR ABOUT $200......IS THIS TRUE. ALSO.....THE BIKE SEEMS TO BE RUNNING WELL AS IS......WILL I BEING DOING ANY HARM TO THE ENGINE BY LEAVING IT AS IS AND JUST CONTINUING WITH NORMALLY SCHEDULED SERVICE.........THANKS FOR THE VERY INFORMATIVE ADVICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM THIS SITE.
1) congrats on the bike
2) stop shouting
3) no key means you need to buy a new one (they're not $600) if you want to use the tuner
4) what are the mods - if it runs well, leave it alone

#1- Hit the Caps lock key!
#2-I think you have the prices backwards.
#3-If the bike runs good, why mess with it?
Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. Sorry about the cap lock, I am at work and send out numerous "global group notification pages" to our employees.....we always send these pages in CAPS...because it is easier to read CAPS on a pager...so I am very use to typing everything in caps. Since the 1000 mile service I don't have the decel pops like I did and during acceleration it is not bucking anymore.....sounds better too.......so per your advice I will leave it as is. I did check Ebay and their are a couple of SERT (brand new in box, model # 32107-01E) for sale for Buy it Now prices of $400-$450....so you are right, definitely cheaper than at the stealer. Thanks again. TP
1. You might want toask the woman you bought the bike from if she has the module.
2. Check with the dealership she bought the bike from. I have heard that sometimes they keep customer's modules onsite.
3. You should be able to get a new one from ebay for around 300-330.
4. Either the 32107-E or 32107-F models will work fine. The "E" version comes with the neccerssary cables but an older revision of the calibration maps. The "F" model has no cables, but comes with the latest revision of the calibrations (H). So, If you get the E SERT you'll have to get the latest map CD from the dealer foraround 20 bucks, If you get the F SERT you'll have to get the cables for around 35 bucks.
I just ordered the F version of the SERT with cable from Zanottis for $427. I've seen warnings about getting it from EBAY. Seems if it's been used once, it burns in the VIN # and won't let you use it on another bike. Anyone have experience with that?
