Default Fuel pump issues

Hi Guys.
Im hoping someone can help or at least confirm what I believe to be the problem.

I have a 2001 Heritage Springer. It was running sweet till the other day when I went to start her.
Turn key switch all good
hitrun switch... no fuel pump whirrrrr ????
hit start button she ran for a second then died and wont start again.

but if I let it sit for half an hour, she will do the exact same thing again.

I checked the fuses, all fine then I replaced both relays.
Now when I hit the run button there is still no whirring sound from the pump but I can hear the relays tick in time .

I believe its the fuel pump itself that's died, would I be correct or is it something else ??? hope some one can help because im about to sell this bike and I don't want it causing dramas for its new owner..

With the info you gave you seem to be correct but remember... If the fuel system is pressurized the fuel pump will not ramp up when you hit the run switch. Do you have any way to check the fuel pressure? That would tell you pretty quick if the pump is working or not.

Fuel pumps don’t last forever , also the fuel lines inside the tank don’t last forever .
Replace EVERYTHING inside the tank . Just my uneducated opinion .
