Fuel Gauge Inoperable

The fuel gauge on my '02 Fat Boy (carb) suddenly stopped working the other day. Is there a fuse for the gauge that could have blown? If so, where's the panel on these?

Probably a hung up float, very common on these bikes. Try and see if you can can jar it loose first, if not look under the seat for the fuse box.

Had the same problem with mine. I tried running it low and bouncing it up and down but to no avail. I took mine to the dealer under warranty, and they fixed it in about 40 mins. The manager said it was a common problem that they had seen before. He confirmed as above...............stuck float inside the tank.

Yeap, it's stuck alright. same thing happened to mine. Dealer fixed it. Replaced the float and bracket

How do you get to the float? Thru the bottom hex head cap by the quick disconnect ?

On the FI models there is a panel under the dash, on the carbed models, I believe they are mounted to the bottom of the gauge if you carefully wiggle it out of the tank( Do not twist it). There's wires attached to it so be carefull when pulling it STRAIGHT up.
