I am purchasing a 2013 street bob in a couple weeks. The only upgrade it has installed are Vance & Hines short shot pipes. Everything else is stock. I'm looking to buy a tuner and have been researching options--I've narrowed it down to either the Power Commander V or the Screamin' Eagle Street Performance Tuner.
Basically I'm looking for which ever one is more user-friendly, easy to self-install, and suitable for my bike/setup. (Eventually I would like to modify the air filter system to complete the stage 1 upgrade which is also a factor to consider).
Which should I go with? Opinions? Thanks in advance for any input!
Also I've heard more bad than good about V&H Fuelpak but if all I ever plan to do is a stage 1 is it still a bad option? I have no interest in getting into motor/cam changes or anything like that. I just mention Fuelpak because it looks to be the simplest tuner to install and use for a stage 1. Yes? No?
Power commander is an add on and may result in problems. I used one on a 2011 SG and everything was great for a short time then lots of problems.
Powervision is made by the same company; however, it is a flash tuner that will take any map loaded into the ECM and you can do data runs to fine tune it for your specific bike. That will result in a much better running MC.
