Default Tmax questions

Hello I have few specific questions that I been trying to find all over the net and couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

Got a Tmax 309-360 auto tuner combo. The bike I will be running this on is 08 Nightster.
-stock engine
-Screamin' Eagle Stage I Sportster Air Cleaner Kit-29782-07
-Rush Baloney Cut slip ons, with (1.75 or 2" baffle inserts, not sure which ones) and stock headers.
-883 Primary gear sprocket

1) Can thundermax be used on unlimited number of bikes 1 at a time? (Because from what I have read PV and TTS tuners require registration per one VIN and then you have to buy another license, its not the case for tmax, correct?)

2) What brand RS232 serial to USB adapter can I use to connect this tunner to my PC with windows 8 besides one from zipper. Are there only certain brands that are known to be compatible or any generic adapter will work like ones on ebay for $4 http://www.ebay.com/itm/3Ft-Transluc...item58a67896a4

3) In the Tmax tuner software, which base map do I need to go with for the upgrades listed above?

4) I wont need to use bungs since Im running factory header with 02 sensors, correct?

Thank you for answering all these questions in advance. Im sure I will have more, but this will do for now.

#1 No. It replaces your stock ECM entirely, so the hardware is a one bike deal. However, you could take it off and put it on another bike as long as the part # is compatible. You can also hook up any laptop with any t-max as long as the software is loaded. Be sure to update software and EFI maps before doing anything with the bike.

#2 any cable that's compatible with your version of windows should do it. If the $4 cable you get from amazon.com doesn't work for some reason, well you're only out $4. The cheap one I bought from there a few years ago worked just fine.

#3 Probably map 813, but I recommend you pop open the software and find the map that best fits what you have. I think there are only a handful of base maps for 1200s.

#4 If you bought the t-max with autotune and it came with wideband O2 sensors, I recommend you install those and replace whatever you have right now. Pretty sure stock config is narrowband O2 sensors, not wideband.

1. The part is bike specific, that said, you could put your stock ECM back on and move the Tmax to another compatible model.

2. My TMax (309-562) uses a mini USB cable. Available everywhere, and should be included in your kit. I run the software on a Surface PRO running windows 8.1 with no issues.

3. If you're unsure of which map to load, go to the Zippers web site and send them an email with your configuration and ask them which map would get you to a close baseline. I did this with my install, and had my answer within 2 hours.

4. You need to change the bungs to the ones that came with the Tmax. The best way to do this is to buy the exhaust for 2009 or earlier bikes, because they used the 18mm bungs. However, capping and welding new ones is not a big deal. JMR is correct. Stock O2 sensors are narrow band.
