Well dad lost his battle with Pancreatic cancer last night. He had a brave 6 month fight. He went peacefully with all of us with him at home. As a kid Dad had Nortons and MotoGuzzi's. He used to always take us for rides, we always had mini bikes and dirt bikes, etc.
Here is his last scooter ride I gave him in may about 2 months into his Chemo.
Sorry for your loss. Looking at that pic of you and him looks like he could still slap the taste out of your mouth. Glad to here that the family was with him. Too many pass away alone.
Thanks Y'all. Had a great service yesterday. Dad looked better than anticipated and much better than the last 2 days of his life...he finally looked at peace.
Had a friend Don Martinez who I met online on FaceBook through another musician friend of mine - Mean Gene Kelton) do the music (acoustic guitar and singing). Everyone was worried about him singing, he has long hair, etc and I was repeatedly told it had to be "Faith Based" songs in the church. Preacher man even reminded me of it. He did 2 songs in the church during service...Amazing Grace and Go Rest High on that Mountain.....wow....blew everyone away. I have never heard anyone play or sing like that.
When we got to the gravesite I told the preacher man he's gonna do a short prayer and Don is going to do 2 songs for Dad and they are not Faith Based but they were Dad's music and this is how I wanted to send him out.
You should of seen that preacher mans mace when he was playing I'm a Man, listen to the song and you'll see why.
When we got back in my truck Don said....that preacher man didn't thank me for those 2 songs like he did for the 2 in the church hahaha. Everyone at the service commented on how perfect those songs were for Dad and everyone was moving to the beat!
