Default forward controls

i just bought some forward controls off ebay and just got them. part # 22-0700 v-twin product. good deal tho for 143.00. but enough of that, my question is do they replace the motor mount or get added to the motor mount? just wanna make sure before i start tearing stuff apart. thanks lanky. ( 72 ironhead )

On most of those kits, the mounting plate replaces the engine mount plates. It would be a good idea to setup the shifter side first and see how well it works. I bought a kit from Custom Chrome once that had to be reworked to get the travel short enough to be usable.

i was able to mount them but short on one bolt. trying to get longer stronger bolts. bought some from lowes just to get them on. not gonna use them for final assembly. 8" will work but having a hard time getting any. called a local company and they have stainless all thread that would work. i mounted them outside of the motor mount. i dont know how strong these would be. any input? or should i just order the ones i need? lanky

On my kit, they had spacers that went in between the mounts and new controls. Yyou should have gotten a set of instructions with them. . If changing bolts use a fine thread bolt and nut with locktite...Mark...

they recomened to replace with longer bolts as a rule with the instructions that come with the controls if you got any ..as the bolts also hold engine if i rember correctly
