The 81 I've been getting help with here is almost ready for the season. I have one last annoying problem. The front brake calipers rattle pretty badly. Once I touch the brake of course it stops. I have heard o-rings on the top bolt between the fork and caliper. Is this the "fix" or are there other suggestions?
I fixed it by installing new bushings in the fork, where the caliper mount bolts go thru.
They are floating calipers. They are supposed to move about. The o-rings and other fixes are frowned upon by some of the more knowledgeable IronHead guys as potentially interfering with caliper operation.
