Default Bendix carb- accelerator jet

I did search, but did not find it, and the manual does not appear to mention it.
In the float bowl, Bendix (72 Sportster) there is an accelerator jet. I think underneath is the weight. I turned it, but it does not seem to unscrew. I do not want to wreck anything- does it just pull out?

There is no accelerator jet in the fuel bowl. There's 2 hex screws, 1 a drain and 2 main jet and jet tube. The weight? There is no weight in a Bendix carb, only a movable float to let fuel in to the proper level in the bowl. Might be a really good idea to get yourself a Factory Service Manual.

Yea...No Weight huh??
Note How it works... fuel goes into pump chamber via check valve (in only), pump depresses (compresses) fuel, past pump valve, out the Accelerator Jet.
Turning the accelerator Jet "Aims" the Squirt, hopefully to center of Intake Manifold.
On old Stuff there is Zero adjustment, except aiming...newer systems can allow control of Volume of Accelerator output.. reducing stroke of Pump. Nothing else in there for us! Far as Accelerator pump goes anyway... Except that I generally remove the Pump rod, as I do Not usually Require accelerator. Absolutely Could Not run one on the Dragstrip..ruined Performance..on My Bike!! If adjustable you will generally find mine at Half a Stroke.

Edit to add; If using Aftermarket (not Real Bendix Parts) that accelerator Pump Rarely works.

Other question is how the one way check valve comes out.
I don’t know how to properly clean without taking all that out.

If I figure it out, I will post what I found.

On the ka-sneeze, there is a Ball under a three fastener Cap, bottom of bowl...on a Bendix, going by memory, everything is Under a Welsh Plug..
the Real Facet Fuel/Zenith/Bendix Kit has all that, and More...

Insert the shank of a drill bit into the check valve. I don't recall the size of the drill bit, but you want a close / tight fit.

Then push / lean the exposed end of the drill bit to one side. As the lean of the drill bit reaches 45 degrees, the check valve will pop out.

Here is the ‘non-existant’ weight and jet. I just used some visegrips and carefully pulled it out. I am going to vaporhone it, and there is no way I would not get stuff in there if I didn’t pull out to clean.
The proper rebuild kit has not gotten here yet, so I have not pulled out one-way valve, but thanks for the tips.

I have vaporhoned it, looks very good now. (Picture to follow) Still signs of corrosion in bottom of bowl of course.
