ORIGINAL: shovel pat

can somebody help me identify this for year and model?
It is an XLCH.
It has what apears to be the polished strip down the middle of the timing cover.
It has the oval center mount oil tank.
It has the Fairbanks-Morse magneto.
It has the solo seat with the 2 rods supporting it going into the frame tubes.
It has the rubber boots on the forks.
It has the early front fender with the long braces at the fender ends.
All of the above features would tell me that it is somewhere between a 1958 and a 1962.
And it may well be, but the front brake hub looks like it is full width aluminum. If that is true, then the wheel is from a 1963 or later. A 1962 or earlier CH would have a front brake like the 1957 XLH model photo I have attached. This was a narrow drum made of steel........pg

If it's original, a full width front brake makes it a '64 or later, early style mufflers make it a '65 or earlier. I can't remember when they introduced the stamped steel oil tank, '64 or '65, so it's a '64 or '65.
