Default brake lines

Does anybody know if banjo style brakelines will work with calipers on a 79 xls sportster and if anything special is needed to make them work correctly without changing out the calipers?

Goodridge makes brakeline sets that fits also to&nbsp\\; 79-85 ironhead, part #&nbsp\\; isn't in their new catalog... you need to go to local speedshop and ask it.

I used a goodridge line from my 79 master cylinder to my 04 rear brake with a banjo bolt with built in brake lite switch works great. Just make sure to get the correct fittings and you should be good to go.

The stock 79 brake system is not designed to use any style of banjo fittings and they will not work unless you wanted to have the stock caliper and master cylinder drilled out, tapped, and machined to go with that type of line. Is there a reason you want to go with banjo fittings? There are braided lines out there that will work with the stock parts. Fitting size is 3/8-24 so you can use automotive braided lines if you want. Russell makes some nice stuff, and Goodridge has lines for your system too.

I have Russell teflon inner lined, stainless steel outer braided brake lines on my 79xlh. They came with cadmium fittings on the ends. Got them at J&amp\\;P Cycle and they were a perfect fit (matched the oem lines exactly) Good for 15,000psi. Havent had a bit of problem with them and they look good. Just thought I would add this since someone mentioned Russell lines in earlier post. They do not have banjo fittings. They just replace the old lines.
