Speedo problem

Default Speedo problem

I have a 79 sporty with and 81 front end on it. The problem i'm having is when we put the new front end on the speedo unit is rolling with the tire until the cable stops it. Any idea what i may have missed that would caused this?? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

i am not really sure what exactly your problem is.----------i dont know if there is a diff but is the wheel compatible with the speedo.maybe the little piece of metal is not catching correctly.....is it an old cable?

The problem is you need to loosen the axle nut then the two pinch bolts . Then tighten the axle then the two pinch bolts up . What is wrong is the axle is loose The common mistake is that peolpe tighten the pinch nut first then the axle I had the same problem with mine Let us know how you make out
