Default instrument cluster

Does anyone have a tip on how to lift the instrument cluster so I can install a Badlands turn signal module (1985 FLTC). I do not have a fairing, I'm running a windshield. I removed the two screws but there doesn't seem to be enough slack to lift it up. Thanks

The thing holding you back is probably the speedo cable. If you slacken the front wheel axle nut, so the speedo drive can turn on the axle, you should be able to lift the instruments a little further, so you can get to the knurled ring holding it to the speedo. If that doesn't help, remove the axle so the speedo drive unit is free of the axle.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it a shot tomorrow.
