but anyway as far as the tank i dont think i can get the sealer to adhere to the rust still in it.i did the same as you did with your tank, but used 50cal.lead ***** from my blackpowder.i didnt want any dents in tank.
I'm not real big on dents myself. You couldn't dent a harley tank from the inside with a 3/8 nut unless you figured a way to fire it in with one of your black powder guns. Tumbling simply won't do it.
Lead ***** for cleaning a tank is a real poor choice; in fact, the rust probably cleaned up the lead nicely. If you're trying to use an abraisive to clean rust from a tank, you have to use something harder than the rust. Lead at room temperature is softer than just about any metal I can think of other the mercury.
Send me your tank, I'll fix it for ya. And the only way it will leave here with dents is if that's how it arrives.
well the lead ***** did the job.they came out covered in rust.i would send it to you halmc
but im a do it myselfguy.somethin very interesting came up afterwards.it wouldnt flow gas.it came out the petcock ok,but when i put fuel lines back on it wont flow unless i put air pressure to it then release it and it would flow for a short time.i found out that the in tank screen was stoppin it?put a new screen in it,and still had same problem.so i took screen out of tankan wal-laa it flowed perfectly.what the h--- is is goin on here.any way im goin to run it like this with external clear view filter with replaceable screens.has anyone else had this problem this is strange
