Default gas flow problems

have an 82 sportywith a khinein.from an 85.with v.o.e.s closed off vacum at carb.the problem is the only way i can get gas flow is no screen in tank no filter-inline.only flows good that way.utherwise what happens is its like it flows but its just a fews drops or a drizzile.if i take it all off it flows great steady stream.i checked everything is all cleartank vent is clear.tank cap is venting.replaced petcock.new screen.new clear glass filter and screens it just wont flow.unless i apply air at tank cap it kinda flows but not quickly after all pressure is released and then wait about 1 1/2 seconds and it starts to fill but not quickly runs, and then it runs all fuel out of lines and filter
what the $#!+ is goin on????

Did you install the new inline filter backwards?
It should have an arrow on it indicating flow direction.

If that is not the problem, then if the fuel flows freely without the filter in place but with the filter it does not flow....... you have a bad filter, regardless if it is new or not.
Throw it away and run without a filter or go buy another new one and try again.
This is not rocket science we are talking about here.......... pg

yes it is.tryed new filter,no flow.the only way i get a good enough flow is like i said in my post.not only will it not flow with fuel filter, but it would not flow unless i also took out screen in tank on petcock.that is only way it flows right.i did all checks on tank petcock and replaced it.tried new screen on petcock.tank vent is clear, cap vents ok,and i'm using 5/8ths.line.also tried other sizes.same bad results.checked vent on carb bowl its clear too.yanked bowl.clean as can be.checked float, and inlet needle all is good there to. whats goin on? need help as i cannot think of anything else to do.

Well, you have just run out of options.

New filter does not flow = Bad filter, new or not.
Screen on petcock will not allow flow = Bad screen, new or not.
New petcock = Impossible to have a flow problem.

What is left? Nothing!
As I recall you had tank problems with excessive rust, loose tank lining etc, etc. Maybe that old tank liner is loose and is flapping over the petcock outlet. Or the rust is so bad that it collects around the opening when the flow out of the tank begins.

In anycase, if you have such a gas tank on the machine then you need to buy a new tank and start from scratch. I am afraid I can offer no more help on the matter. Sorry......... pg
