Well as I have said before I have a 2 inch over FXST or Wide Glide frontend so the slipping the forks through the will not work. But thanks for the idea. I also have a 21 inch front tire so that probably adds to the height. I am curious though about what you were talking about cutting the springs. I can buy a set of stock length springs for that frontend if that might help to lower it.

or put a 16 or 19 inch front tire on to see what they look like. or get a stock set of forks

once you get the front where you want it by going with a stock frontend or a 16 inch rim or a 19 inch rim or stock frontend and a 19 inch rim or stock frontend and 16 inch rim...you get the idea, after the front height is where you like it then throw on some struts in the rear. that way you know its going to be the right height and you can get it nice and level

i would look into buying stock fork tubes, ( as pinion said)this would be the safest way to lower it right, if you try to cut the springs i may worried about handling problems

I ride a 78 with a weld-on hardtail, 19" front 16" rear and a stock frontend. My bike is only about 1" higher in the front. I really like the way my bike handles and rides. I don't have spring loaded seat my set mounts directly to the frame. I am 5'9" and run mid controls. I can take any pics you need for referance.

Yes some shots of each side would be nice. I have a few questions about somethings on my frame anyhow. I would like to just have the shots to reference, like my seat mount only hangs below the backbone and it looks like most I have seen have a mount that extends above and below the backbone. Just some small things like that plus the height issue. And if anyone does have a wideglide frontend some shots of it on a sporty would be nice, too.
