Anyone ever put a springer on one of these bad boys? I think that would be pretty sweet. Would this have a negative effect on stability at speed?
i am picking up one for mine soon.so anyone want to buy my wideglide frontend rebuilt springs inzide and my rear progressive shocks that will help get it sooner
have you thought about shortening the front tubes and springs and rolling with a 19 on front ,I did my 71 that way and it is low and sweet and still rides great.
Cheap Way ? Okay then this is the way to lower the front end cheap take out the spring spacers on the front tubes and shorten them or replace them with a shorter piece of pvc.If the spacers are already gone then you will have to actually cut down the springs. This mod works well and fast and cost nothing.I have done this many times for custom builds and it works fine! If you want to lower the rear just remove the shocks and replace them with some steel bars that are shorter. That will give you everything you are asking about for very little money! Good Luck
FLYING now that is the kind of answer I was looking for. Oh and I talked with a guy that I work with today and found out that he builds custom choppers. He and hi father-in-law have a little shop at his house. He told me that if I have a factory neck and an engine that he can build me whatever I want. He also said that he can build me a springer for about $500, way better than $1500 on line or out of a catalog.
Ironkidzsled I talked to my buddy today and he said that when he finishes the one he is working on for his brother-in-law that he will get some pics before he puts it on the bike. So I should be able to post them by next week sometime.
