Default Dyno charts

Has anyone here ever dyno'd their Ironhead? If so post them here. I am curious what you all are getting as far as power and torque curves.

OK since you asked, I know it looks sad but I tuned it up the way the guy told me and I can tell that it's better than this

Is this rear wheel torque and HP? What kind of carb are you using?

yes it's rear wheel with an '03 CV carb it needed a rejet at the time but, the guy said that was pretty common for an ironhead

I've dyno'd mine a couple times, but didn't save the charts. Mine was making almost 90 HP/97 ft lbs on the best run, though. The engine has 12.5:1 compression Wiseco pistons, dual plugs, Chevy points, Accel coil, S&S Super E carb, Andrews Y cams, and heads ported, running Cycle Shack slip-ons on 1.75 inch pipes at the time. I tried drag pipes, but it ran like crap below 4000 rpm. They are really only good for top end performance. I was using a 50/50 mixture of 93 octane Sunoco gas and 100 octane low-lead AVGAS. She has almost as much pep as the XR750s I used to race. Of course, the XR only weighed about 300 lbs compared to the 425 lbs (I lightened it quite a bit) that the XLCH weighs.

No, the stroke was stock, but it was bored .060. Not enough to really make much of a difference in power.... I just did it to remove the scratches in the cylinders. I ended up replacing them a few years later, so it was back to stock bore. I didn't notice any loss in power (seat of the pants) when I did that.

Can it be run on pump gas with that compression ratio?

Not unless you retard the ignition so far that it won't run at all. I'd only run pump gas (93 octane) on CRs of less than 10.5:1, and even then you might need octane booster. In fact, I wouldn't build a street bike with a CR of more than that. My Sporty is mainly set up for racing. I don't usually run it on the street anymore since it's getting hard to get AVGAS. You might be able to find some racing fuel, though (for a lot more $$).
