Smile Mid Controls Anyone? :)

I am having a hell of a time finding mid controls for my 75 Ironhead thru craigslist or ebay. Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks guys

It took me two years of eBaying to find them for my 1980. Then i had to bid high to get them. Originals from back then were just tossed in the trash.

Step one is to have the factory parts catalog. It has the schematic diagram for each part and the part number. The schematics are important to help distiguish amoung parts that are similar. The part numbers are essential for searching eBay, CraigsList, Kijiji, and all the catalog companies like J&P etc.

Then you need patience, and willingness to pay more than the other guy who wants them. As i recall i paid between $150 and $200, and that was for most of the parts. There was still a couple of small things that i needed.

Your 1975 only takes mid control parts for '75 and '76. Another option favored by many is to change that bike to right side shift. This is what many guys would do. "The way it should be", they say. Then you have much more choice. Still need the parts catalog 99451-78B.

Pick up the NEW J&P VINTAGE parts book. They have every thing you need for your 75 IRONHEAD SPORTY. I order a set of forward Controls from J&P for my 77 sporty. In 30 min's I was up and runing.
