the problem with the theads existed prior to when i purchased the bike. cant help but wonder if it had anything to do with them wanting to sell it now either since far as I can tell (aside from whats been discussed here) a proper repair i imagine would reqire splitting the cases... just guessing, but thats really gotta suck to do
Okay its not easy for me to say this but the threads turned out to be fine I just had about a quarter inch of the bolt that snapped off that was still in there I missed.. Yes, I'm an idiot. I also realize now just how difficult it wouldy be to strip em in the first place. Good news is my bike is running again! Hopefully they'll let me return this 50$ heli coil kit.
However still cant help but wonder how the hell you could ever drill one out to put the coil in there? Don't imagine there's a drill bit on earth that could do it....

The bolts not hard, so it will drill out. If you broke a tap off you would have a problem. Still not impossible but you would need to remove cam and bring it to a machine shop with an EDM( electrical discharge machine) they'd burn it right out. Cost wise it may be cheaper to replace Unless you have a friend in a machine shop.
