I have seen a few coils fail.
But thats only because I actually have experience.
It is not always something else. But it was always something else in this simple case.

Phrases like" I may be the only person to tell you this", or, "I have never seen that" should be clear warning signs to you.

How did you come to be in possession of the mikuni? You didn't go out and buy it, did you?

And don't forget to get that coil well grounded!!!!!!! Now thats a good one.

bucaman
u say only 2 wire at coil. wrong 3. 1 hot from egnition switch and it should be 12 volts. in a dual fire its conected usally to the front terminal as pictured 1 wire to fire front and 1 to fire rear going to ecm. there is no ground as grounding is throught the ecm that fires the plugs.

Disrespect of what????????????????
You give good advice, and I can assure, I will say nothing.
Give ridiculous advice, and I WILL RESPECT THE ORIGINAL POSTER AND ALERT HIM TO THIS.
This man has already been messed about with the old piece of junk mikuni deal, and now he has had the sense to junk it.
HE EVEN FELT THE NEED TO APOLOGISE TO THE MAN WHO SENT HIM WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that is absurd.
Anyone with even an inkling of mechanical understanding would cringe at much of the information being put forward.
I feel sorry for the ones who cannot tell the garbage from the good stuff.
I am happy to assist them.
Now run away and take the oil filter off someones bike.

Hey crapgame since I'm the joker shouldnt that be my avatar?

I was wondering how the tach wiring was supposed to be since I'm having a problem with mine. I see it's connected to the timer/breaker. I would think that they should be wired parallel instead of in series but I guess the voltage drop woulnt be that much.
