I just wanted to say Hi to everyone out there, I am rejoining the ranks as an Ironhead rider... I used to have a 1979 XLS Roadster a few years back; however, I just picked up a new, ok almost new, 1984 XLX-61 w/4472mi... the guy I bought it from took very good care of her, but hardly road her, she looks like she could have just rolled off the showroom floor.
keep her as is, its tough to find an Ironhead in good original condition today.
Also i dont care what the predictions are, i looked for one of these bikes for a long time (2 years) locally, it was hard finding something that had no major issues and could be put back to original, my prediction is that they will be hard to find and prices will go up.
That's nice! You got one of the "upgraded" models with a color other than black and a chrome exhaust. Looks like a king tank option, too. If you decide to customize, keep your stock parts and modify eBay donor parts. Stock, unmolested Ironheads are getting harder and harder to find.
