I purchased some front dual brake calipers off ebay that had obviously sat dry for a long time. I've tried air pressure (125 psi). I also filled the calipers with brake fluid and let them soak. I rekitted the rear main cylinder, hooked it up to the caliper, bleed the combination, but I still can't break the piston loose with the foot brake.
Any suggestions? More air pressure or maybe a machine shop that apply more hydrolic pressure. I thought maybe there might be something that I can fill the caliper with that would maybe dissolve the seal.
Hhmmmm, i guess i have never had one that bad. I have always been able to pop it out easily with air pressure. I remove both fittings, plug one, and apply air pressure to the other with my medium size air compressor.
I don't know correct english name for this "greasegun" :
I have used it with old car calibers, just swap bleed screw to grease nipple and plug for brake hose. Then apply grease into caliber piston will pop off.
