1975 ironhead

my buddy has a 1975 ironhead 1000cc.it keeps burning the points out,i just put a brand new generator on it because it was shot,put new points in started right up burned points out in about 10 min.help would be great,thanks/

I would suggest another new set of points and a new condensor, a bad condensor will cause points to burn.

+1 on the condenser. I've not had this issue, but 10-minutes seems extreme...

Question ..
I just got a 75 ironhead dropped off in my garage ..
Just the engine and its dis-assembled ............seems complete and in pretty good condition..
Whats it worth ..
I dont really want it..

Hhhmmmm, engine only, no frame etc. Dismantled. No way to know if it will run, or what was the problem that caused it to be dismantled, or if said problem was fixed.

It is just a box of parts.

I do not know what it would be worth. You could sell it on eBay.
