Should riser bolts be a grade 5 or grade 8 type of bolt? I just put new handlebars on my bike and the risers came with regular bolts. The old bars had grade 8 bolts holding them in.
And I have to say how nice it is to be riding again after having had the bike off the road for about three weeks while I messed with the front end parts (all fixed now). It turned out that the top nut on the steering stem wasn't threading down far enough to make the front end tight. I got a new nut and all is well.
If grade 8 was what was used, then that is your answer for a replacement. The bolts should be a gold color. I would swap out the new ones for what you had........pg
