Leaking 51 pan TRANNY
My tranny leaks from the 4 tranny plate mounting suds(underneath). I tried fixing this once before. Seemed ok & reinstalled. Then it leaked again with a vengence. How is this fixed? Special thread sealer, oversized studs (mine seemed fine), replace entire case, give in & replace with a completely new tranny? Leak is excessive so I can't ignor. How was this normally dealt with?

are you sure the oil isn't just pooling there,its the lowest part..i dont think the 4 studs go all the way thru to leak..if they do,there is probally damage somewhere,using thread sealant might help.. maybe a rubber Oring at each bolt

I'v run into that one a few times , has to dry and very clean and use Loctite 290 green or the 271 if the stud is a loose fit in the case let it sit 24 hrs to cure fully . If you have to do a thread repair on that use one piece threadserts not a heli coil those always seep oil .
If you have that much leakage are you sure the drive gear bushing isn't the problem or the seal isn't a good fit and leaking around that area ?
