Default Little help w/ trans & Engine selection

Hey, betcha some of ya can help me out here.
I've been saving my $ for quite a while now, been wanting a Knuckle for years. I am looking at enough to support a new S&S KN 93" & frame from local builder, plus I have enough parts around I've picked here & there to put together one, except my budget is tight around the trans & primary area.
So, I am wondering if I could use a trans & primary from a Dyna until I can afford to change it? If all it takes is a little modification at the frame--no problem. The new KN Knuckle is a generator/alternator, I was lookin' at, anyway, or would I need to stay w/ the generator only KN to use the Dyna?

The KN requires a longer/newer transmission mainshaft. The Dyna parts I could get would be from a '98 electric start...I am thinking to scrap the idea & wait a little longer 'cause I could swing a RevTech 4 speed kicker only & a Primo Brute iii by summer next yr. I like this idea more--then maybe I can get the Baker trans I am wanting later down the road--doing this, yeah, doing this.

Of course I found a pretty good deal on a well built Shovel & trans the other day too--aaarrrrggghhh--choices!

Hey thanks,
I'm gonna put my 4banger into long term storage & get started on the frame first, coming this October (mid) because I can use either engine w/ a little modification. If nothing tragic happens I' goin' Knuckle, I would really like a 6 speed trans because its likely to keep that iron cylinder a little cooler for the miles I'm gonna need to put on it next yr--don't think I can boot it just yet so I'll probably take some extra rest stop time--however, will keep your offer in mind & get back to ya, If ya sell it by then no worries, I can probably locate something local.
