Yea or maybe a pair of modified CV carbs?
Here is a comparison of the 2 different carbs on a dyno & some trick CV mods.

M35 Linkert but settled on a S&S Super B. I know you can get a lot out of the round slides but flatslides are what the fast boys are using. I'm running a set of 36mm RS Flatslides on my 1260 Japanese street bike and a HSR42 on my turbo Japanese street bike. I built this Knuck because I put one together in the early 80's and missed having an old cruiser that you don' have to worry about having to hop it up and being the fastest guy in town. Just ride.
As soon as I get the Rivera Primo clutch replaced (busted bearing after 4 miles) I'm probably going to get that old Pan and go through it.
I have to have something to tinker with.

My Dads first Harley was a b/c that his older brother gave him & he built it in the house lol well that's what got him hooked on Harleys.
What year is that Panhead you are looking at?

Was looking on C.L. and saw this Imo builder should have chromed the frame & did the tail lights to stick with the Capt. America theme.

With your talents why not just find a basketcase panhead engine and buy a replica hardtail frame and build your rolling chassis.
My dad built his first Harley from a b/c his brother gave him in the back room of the house he grew up in when he was a teenager lol. They didn't have a garage.
