Good point - the Zero bike i was looking at did not have that added feature...thanks, I am feeling even better!!
besides the cooling, the Livewire gives you all the power until the very last drop....Zero goes into a sort of limp mode with 10% left
The more I experience the LW, the happier I am that I have it
The Livewire is a great bike, every article or video review I have seen where it goes head to head against the Zero it is the better bike. But there is a cost for better, which makes sense. But when you get the two bikes optioned so they have similar charging times there isn't that much of a price difference. That difference starts to get justifiable real quick.
But still you have to want an electric bike to get the Livewire, or the Zero or the Energica for that matter.

Any dealership that sells them should let you take one for a demo ride. They are a blast, the acceleration is just insane and it is so easy to accelerate fast, no worrying about dumping the clutch and finding yourself laying on your back with the bike on top of you. The electronic controls take care of that and just accelerate you as fast as is possible. Harley has the traction control and ABS very well sorted out on the Livewire.
Another good point - you have to want an electric bike. There are some people who are just not interested in electric, regardless of performance specs. That's fine, different strokes for different folks and all that. I have a garage full of cruisers, both Indian and Harley, and the rumbling V-twins will always be my go-to. Unbeatable character and charm. The LW is just a whole other experience, and I really believe that HD could have a winning portfolio here if they expand their learnings to less expensive models and market to the masses. I keep thinking how the Tesla model S was out of reach for many, and now I see more model 3's than BMW 3 series or MB C class. If I knew for sure that the CEO was going to continue investment here, I would be grabbing HD stock at these lows.
Local dealer got some in right before the shitshow virus hit. I mentioned wanting to test it out and they said come on over. Hopefully I can sometime very soon. No plans to buy at this time but I'd love to experience the torque!
