I see the list is about 30 grand +/- based on black vs color. Are they being discounted and if so substantially? The dealer local to me has 3 in stock so I don't know how well they sell but it would be a great commuter for me.
I think you kind of hit the nail on the head. This is a great bike for people who have $30K for a dedicated commuter vehicle or a toy to hit the twisties for an hour or two on the weekend. Pre-pandemic there were half a dozen or so Volts and Teslas in the parking lot of my office building, so there is a market for such stuff. There are many more of us driving internal combustion engine, or ICE, vehicles though.
LiveWire is great for what it is, but it isn't going to be something that every dealer, or even the portion of H-D dealers currently selling these bikes, is going to sell a lot of. H-D is going to have to come out with a follow on vehicle that has a combination of price and capabilities that works for a larger audience before they have a true commercially successful EV.
Maybe their midsized EV concept will be it. We won't know until they do more than draw a few pretty pictures and a paragraph telling us it is inspired by the XR750. I think it has great promise, but so far it's just pictures and words on screens.
From what I have found online Dealer Price is around $25K.
I've heard of dealers selling them near that price, and I've heard of dealers asking $34K for them.
You are in Florida so your good riding season is just coming up. I doubt dealers down there will deal much, but if you find a dealer further up north that wants to get ride of them It might be worth paying for shipping.
I can get one for 26k by my other home in NJ and with the NJ incentives it’s a really good buy there. So the bikes is 26k, NJ has no sales tax on BEVs, 2500 federal tax credit and NJ will give $25/mile of range in cash back for a BEV. I’m not sure if they’ll use highway, city or some combined. Let’s say the pick 94 miles 2350 cash back. They’ll finance for .9% / 60 months making it even cheaper.
I’m trying to decide between black and orange but prob gonna go orange.
When I asked how much they are going for, dealer here said $25k without hesitation. Not sure what if any incentives FL has and if we was including those. I just asked out of curiosity.
