Having some issues downshifting into 1st

I have the 17 RK and when I first started riding I noticed 'feeling' the downshift in the clutch lever. I felt it more so trying to downshift to first and even second when still moving at some speed. Slow or near stop then I don't feel it at all.
I am coming from a cable clutch on my previous softail and would never feel this. I think this is just a characteristic of the new hydraulic clutch... at least that is what I've convinced myself of.

Doesn't sound right to me. IMHO.
Clutch adjustment or better transmission lubricant like BelRay or Redline. My TC shifts silky smooth after I went to BelRay.
BTW...I'm sure you all know this. But, even with the clutch in, don't shift into a lower gear at a speed you would not normally ride in.
