If you can not pay cash, the M8 is too expensive.

With the up coming election, better keep your paid for bike till we see how things will shake out.

Checkers, I'm on the downhill slide of riding too..going on 62. My business office just closed in March so I'm in between retirement and not really needing to go back to full time work. Fortunately I've been blessed without having to go back to full time work...but saying that I want to be cautious on any big purchase. It would be a cash deal of sure unless HD is running that great interest rate but think that is for the 16 models. My wife knows me too...she doesn't even throw up a discussion anymore...knowing that I'll eventually do what I want. Thanks for all the feedback so far.

Problem when talking to rep of dealer (good dealer too..bought 3 bikes from them)..he was telling me my bike on trade is only 14-15k. I wasn't shocked based on what you guys have been saying here in this forum. I had thought if I make move, it would be to a SG since my wife doesn't care to ride much anymore. That help on pricing difference some. Anyway, my real hesitation now is the "hit" I'll take as my bike is paid for also. I said this one would be my last bike...yeh right..We'll see. Anyway, thanks for the honest feedback on the new bikes...
My local dealer offered $5k for my '08 Cop Glide (FLHTP) on a trade for a 2017 Street Glide. I couldn't make those numbers work. I called a dealer 350 miles away that I had worked with before. They gave me $10k for the same trade, over email with a few pics from me. Grab the phone and make some calls. Let your local dealer know you're willing to travel. It might pay off very well....
