congrats again. let us know how you like the changes when you do get her out for some serious riding.
it sucks that we're getting these bikes in the middle of frikin winter. dealer called me the moment the truck arrived. I rushed out of work to see it. had just 2 miles on the bike. Did the stage 1 (exhaust, intake, tuner) and got it when they put another 10-15 miles on it. rode it three times to a little over 300 miles and now it's sitting in my garage because it's around 35* and raining. now If I can only get one more nice day (above 40* and dry) before officially winterizing her, I'll be a happy man till spring.
I have no idea. I assume it's whatever the MoCo does before it ships. But it's better than 60 miles from the showroom floor where one has no idea what the bike has been through from test riders.
I live about an hour away from where they are built and did the steel toe tour thru the plant. Its pretty impressive. At the end the bikes are put on a dyno type machine where the hook a gas line up and exhaust, plug in the ecm start them up and go thru the gears test everything they can while running it. Didn't time it but I would say 5-7 min. If all checks out she gets in line to prep for transportation.
When my bike came in to dealer, it was still on the metal pallet they ship them on. After they connected the battery, I observed 1.3 miles on the odometer. When I took delivery the next day, it had 8.9 miles on it. I believe among other items, the PDI calls for the tech to road test the bike and they also top off the tank.
Breaking News. The Mother Company Mapped out all the parts needed to install their bars, but no workkie. The extended brake line is about 18" too long. Were waiting for them to figure out and send the correct line...
Meanwhile, we cant install anything else. but I did get some pics of the front end, wheel and primary.
Today I got to bring my new ride home, took it for a quick spin. I have a bunch more mods to do but wow, This bike is sofaking awesome. Cant wait for the weather to turn so I can ride. These pipes with the stage III are very nice. Good Job Harley-Davidson.
