I know it's a small thing, but I see that Harley really cheapened out on the 17 Ultra Classic by deleting the front fender tip light. Bad enough they removed the rear fender tip light on the UC and Limited for 2017, but that's getting ridiculous. At least they still left the front one on the Limited. Probably for the 2018 model year, they will drop that also.
Any way the MoCo can squeeze you for an upgrade $$, they're gonna.
Limited: gloss black inner fairing and Security standard. Test ride each, half day if possible.
I just did a two day rental in Las Vegas this past weekend, I requested a Limited, good power for a stock bike, engine quitter than twin cam in my opinion. Afternoon temps were 80-82, bike did put off some heat in traffic, wife's right leg was hot. I think a decat will rectify this.
I own a 2007 Classic, S&S 106 kit, it is always hot. I'm taking the lowers off the 07 for this summer, put them on to support extra speakers.
My initial opinion of the M8 is positive, I may buy one in the next two years.
Leaning Ultra Classic, due to color and the fact you can dress her down by taking off both the tour pack & lowers to clean up the look.
However, I'd be giving up the water cooled heads. Is this thinking short sighted?
I just bought a limited. Was a no brainer. The security system and the 6.5" nav screen as well as the gloss black dash more than pays for the price difference.
I know it's not what you asked but I traded in a 14 Limited for a 17 RGS primarily because I test rode it and felt the improvements of the M8 but also because the sleeker look (minus the tourpak) and because it sat lower it was just more comfortable.
Good luck with whatever you decide and remember to post pics when you get it.
Went with the limited. The twin cooled option was the benefit that tipped the scale. Lots of other threads touting the benefits of the twin cooling. Bought mine back in December and have ZERO regrets.

Thanks Piloto. Let me apologize for the redundant posting. However, in my defense, I did search several times for 'classic vs limited', but my search term did not yield the thread you forwarded.
I went with the classic because I wanted the ability to remove the lowers and not worry about coolant and getting heat blown at me on hot days from the radiators.
Added the fan assisted oil cooler and cool flow fan and I think this set up will be less hassle for maintenance and stays true to being what a Harley is.. an air cooled American v-twin.
